Letter from the Principal

May 1, 2009

Dear Parents,

Happy Spring! It is a gift to experience the beautiful weather. The fresh air in Pasadena always reminds me of being on vacation at the beach. The weather helps to create an energizing and refreshing spirit for all of our many activities between now and the end of the year.

I so enjoyed being with all the mothers and children at “Muffins for Moms.” The Family School Association worked double-time to split the days, making a comfortable environment for you to spend with your children. The students are a joy. I still am so pleased at how polite and kind they are. Thanks for attending this special event, as I know it means a great deal to your children. It was nice to talk to everyone, and we appreciate your support. We look forward to seeing our very special people at the next event, Grandparents’ Day!

I am sure you are aware of the reporting of the swine flu in our country.  We received information from the Archdiocese about two websites that you may want to look at.  They are www.cdc.gov/swineflu and www.cdc.gov/swineflu/mitigation.htm.

I also thought it may be helpful to you to see the letter published by Anne Arundel County Schools.  It is attached in your monthly packet.  At school, we are giving extra attention and time in the cleaning of the building and classroom areas.  Please encourage your children to wash their hands frequently and follow our health room guidelines posted on our website.

I am working closely with Bishop Rozanski to address financial issues here at school. In anticipation of finalizing a projected enrollment for the next school year, 2009-2010, we will be placing a cap on class sizes for all grades. New registrations and reregistrations coming in may be placed on a waiting list if we determine that classes are full. Please be sure your registration and registration fees are paid and that your forms and tuition contracts are filled out completely. We will not count any student in the enrollment here at St. Jane if the forms, payment or contracts are incomplete or missing. Thanks for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Michelle M. Jones

Principal
