In September we

5th- Library welcome, rules, finding information
in the library, and card catalog
6th-Library welcome, rules, and Dewey Decimal
System
7th-Library welcome, rules, and begin study skills
8th-Library welcome, rules, and begin study skills
This year each grade will be working on the
following:
PRIMARY will be working on book care, use of the library, parts of a book, ABC order, genres of literature, introduction to the Dewey Decimal System and beginning use of reference materials.
INTERMEDIATE will be working on book care, use of the library, card catalog, electronic catalog, internet searching, Dewey Decimal Classification, parts of a book, reference material, and genres of literature.
JUNIOR HIGH will be working on use of the library, card catalog, electronic catalog, genres of literature, research in the library, writing research reports, study skills and interview skills.
Library Return Policy
Books should be returned the day prior to your child's library day to their homeroom classroom. Please report lost books immediately to your teacher. Students will be charged a fine for lost books. Students can only check out a book if they have returned previously checked out material.
