Week of May
26th to May 30th
We will be doing a
review of all our letters from now until the end of May. We will continue printing the
upper and lower case letters. We will be working on our numbrs one to ten. We will
continue reviewing our sign language and our Spanish. We will continue adding new words in
Spanish until the end of the year. We will also be working on what alphabet letter comes
before and after and what number comes before and after.
. I am also
quizing them on their upper case and lower case letters to make sure that they can
recognize them and are able to match them to their partner letters.
We will begin working
on some words so we can begin reading a few sentences. We will be working on small amounts
of addition

We will be collecting
change in our classroom jar to be donated to poor children in another country. We
are asking that each child earn 25 cents doing some chore and bring it in to class to put
in the jar. I will give them an extra ticket for the prize box..
May 30th
Teddy Bear Picnic 9:00 to 11:00
The
children come to the daycare yard for the Teddy Bear Picnic at 9:00. We do not meet in the
classroom because there would be no room for everyone who will be coming. If it
happens to rain we will be in the cafeteria instead. The children do not have to be in
uniform on Friday.
May 30th
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR PRE-K
Our new
principal"s name is Mrs. Michelle Jones. She is currently principal of Holy Redeemer
School in College Park, Maryland.
Mrs. Brenda and I
cannot believe that this school year has gone by so quickly. Your children have learned so
much. They have come so far since the beginning of the year. It is always hard at
the end of a year to say goodbye to them. We will miss them but it is satisfying to see
the progress they have made and to know that we have had such a huge part in their
growing. We hope your family has a wonderful summer and we will see you at the picnic.
Love
Mrs. Brenda
and Mrs. Wright

STAR STUDENTS
Every
Student has had a turn being Star Student so we will begin taking turns everyday.

I found a great website for creating your own
printing trace patterns. Go to www.My-Moondrops.com Just remember they do not have to print their names
correctly on lines. The tracing page will help them in forming the letters in the correct
order, but don't worry if they don't stay on the lines. It also helps if you have them say
the letters as they print them. This repetition helps them to remember what letter comes
next.
If you would like to
practice writing names at home, here is a web site that allows you to make your own
handwriting worksheet Handwriting Practice -
Grade 1 - Kindergarten
Here is another good
website for handwriting worksheets. They come out nice and big 13/16 which makes it easier
for the children to trace. www.handwritingworksheets.com/index.htm

We always are in
need of paper towels, baby wipes (can be the refillable kind), ziploc bags (sandwich and
gallon), labels (Avery 8160 and 8167), glue sticks, and prizes for the prize box
during the school year If you can donate any of these items at any time it is greatly
appreciated especially paper towels and baby wipes.
