Homework Suggestions
Each evening plan a special time to read with your child. I want every student in the class to participate in the Book It Program. The goal is ten books per month. Remember that your child can do the reading to you or (for most of us) you can read the book to your child.
Please make this a fun and pleasurable time. Do not make them sound out words when doing this type of reading.
Each child must print their first and last names in school. Practice printing the child's first name on primary rule paper. Use a pencil and follow the directional alphabet that was sent home this past Summer.
Our first letter was Cc. The sound they should know is / k /
Play games of "I spy" ..."I see something that is orange and tastes sweet that begins with the sound / k/ ". Locate as many things that you can that begin with that sound. Keep in mind that the spelling can be a c or k, it is the sound we are working on.
