BOOK-IT
Pizza Hut’s Book-It Program begins on Oct. 1st. The Kindergarten goal is to have 15 books read to each child every month. The October book titles are due on Nov. 1st to receive the free Pizza Hut pizza certificate. There is a limit of one certificate per month.
SKIP is a new screening program designed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore for students PreK to grade 2. SKIP assists in screening young children for emotional, social and developmental delays that can interfere with learning.
As explained on our Back to School Night, parents will be receiving a mailing from the Archdiocese of Baltimore the week of Oct. 8th, assigning a user name and password. Parents are asked to go online after Oct. 21st to complete the SKIP questionnaire. All information is kept confidential.
WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OCTOBER?
We will be working on the following concepts this month:
Religion- God made me special; we have feelings
Reading- Letter & sound identification and formation of Oo, Gg, Aa,
Math- patterns; more, less & equal, ordinal numbers
Social Studies- Maryland and Fire Prevention
HALLOWEEN PARTY
Our Halloween Party will be on Oct. 31st at 1:45. Our class mothers will be contacting some parents for party goods.
Children may wear costumes to school on that day. No make-up or weapons, please.
Make sure the costume doesn’t interfere with your child’s ability to use the bathroom.
