HOMEWORK SUGGESTIONS

Please read with your child for 10-15 minutes nightly.

Memory words: Cass, Oswald, Golly, Alf, Doc, Sal, Lily, Icky

Today we met Icky.  He loves to watch television and pretends that he is in his own show. Have your child find the letter Ii on boxes, in books, and on signs.  Have your child find objects that begin with the short i sound as in Icky's name  in the kitchen, in their bedroom, amongst their toys, and even when you go shopping. Have fun reinforcing the letter and its sound.

We have now learned the letters Aa, Cc, Dd, Gg, Ll, Oo and Ss.  Your children should be able to name the letters and tell you the sound of the letter.  We have also begun blending the letters together to make words.  Practice blending the following combinations with your child: oc, og, od, ol, os,  ac, ad, ag, al, as, co, ca, do, da, go, ga, la, lo, so, sa, god, gad, glad, clad, class, clog, cod, doc, dog, doll, add, cog, dad, glass, gloss, Lad, lag, Lass, log, loss, odd, gas, sad, salad, sag, sod.

In  Math we have been practicing counting and printing up to 12.  The children may need practice printing the numbers.  Check the papers that come home daily.
