 5th Grade Homework

4th Grade Homework

bulletAll homework is to be completed neatly and turned in on time.
bulletMissed homework assignments will need to be completed.
bulletA missed homework assignment will result in a red card.  The students will walk during their recess.
bulletHomework is included as part of the student's effort grade.

Absenteeism

bulletMissed work will be recorded and available for you to pick up at the end of the school day.  Missed work should be completed at home.
bulletIf you would like to pick up your child's work, please notify the school office by 8:30AM. Your child's assignments will be available for pick-up after 2:30 PM. We cannot guarantee work requested earlier than this time.
bulletIt is up to the teacher's availability to send advance make up work home due to a vacation.

Conferences

bulletIn order to schedule a conference, please choose one of the following options.
  1. Email your child's teacher using this site . Please keep in mind this email is only accessible in the classroom. However, for simple questions or minor concerns this is generally the quickest way to receive a response.
  2. Call the school office and leave a message on the teacher's voicemail.
bulletYour message will be returned as soon as possible.

    3.  Notify the teacher in writing.

Dismissal

bulletOur dismissal time is 2:45 pm.

bulletIf there are any changes in your child's dismissal procedure please notify the school in writing.

Birthdays

bulletPlease make sure your child has filled out their student survey, so we can record the correct date.
bulletStudents are encouraged to celebrate their birthday's at school. Feel free to send in birthday treats. These treats will be passed out at lunch time.
bulletPlease send all party invitations by mail.  We do not want any students to have their feelings hurt because they were not invited to the party.
bulletStudents with summer birthday's will be given a "Happy UnBirthday"  at the end of the school year.

Testing

bulletPlease help your child to prepare for all tests and quizzes adequately.  Please check out the Sites To Explore for more information.
bulletWe do our best to schedule tests on different days. However, due to scheduling conflicts, this is not always possible.
bulletIn March, the fifth grade students will participate in the Stanford 9 testing. A notice will be sent home closer to the test dates. Please be sure your child has plenty of rest this week.

Report Cards

bulletStudents are given letter grades in all content areas including Religion.
bulletStandard comments (Proficient, Very Good, Good, Satisfactory, Needs Improvement, Unsatisfactory) are given for all other subject areas.
bulletEffort and Conduct comments will also be made for all areas.
bulletIt is recommended that you monitor your child's progress using PowerSchool.

Friday Packets

bulletAll graded assignments will be sent home in Friday Packets. These folders are to be returned to school no later than Tuesday of the following week.
bulletPlease sign all of the papers in the packet and return the packet to school.
bulletIt is helpful to use these packets to monitor progress as well as provide insight to your child's specific strengths and needs.

Behavior Management

bulletA system of  rewards and reminders are used to monitor behavior.
bulletStudents are awarded green cards for good behavior with a positive message given to the child.
bulletStudents are given a yellow card as a reminder to check their behavior.
bulletStudents will be handed a red card if the behavior continuous, homework is incomplete, or class rules have been broken.  Red cards result in walking the orange fence for a time during the recess period.
bulletSee Our Classroom Constitution for more details.

Volunteers

bulletAt various times throughout the year, both fifth grade classes will need parent volunteers. Volunteers are needed for field trips, in class helpers, and as extra hands for projects.
bulletIf you are interested, please contact Mrs.Armero or Mrs. Quinn to let us know when you are available.
bulletAll school volunteers are required to complete The Child Safe Program and Stand Training in order to work with the students.

We are looking forward to a safe, happy, and exciting school year.
